Pwc Luxembourg is hiring an IT Functional Architect M/F/D. What if it was you? Your mission : The IT Functional Architect (also acting as a Business Architect) is responsible for the strategic and cross-functional design of IT solutions. This role ensures that IT systems are functionally coherent, aligned with business capabilities, and integrated into the broader enterprise architecture. Unlike a Functional Analyst (who works at the project level), the Functional Architect operates at a macro/enterprise level, shaping the functional landscape and guiding solution design across domains. The position bridges business and technology, ensuring solutions are both technically viable and strategically relevant. Be a part of our team where you will:
- Shape the Architecture & Blueprint Maintain and evolve business architecture structures (capabilities, services, processes, organizational mappings). Define conceptual architectures and decompose product options aligned with IT strategy. Ensure interoperability across domains and design standardized, reusable functional services. Evaluate solution options, balancing value, complexity, and feasibility. Collaborate with UX designers for user-centric design.
- Engage and Support the Business Work with business process teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities and drive improvements. Align expectations across Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, and business sponsors. Act as a bridge between Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Project Teams, and Business representatives.
- Contribute to Project and Portfolio Support project initiation and documentation activities, including preparation of specifications, HLR documents, and input for RFPs or vendor assessments when applicable. Facilitate Application Portfolio Management and monitor project execution for architectural alignment. Follow implementation phases, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions to maintain architectural integrity.
- Govern Data Tools Collaborate with Data Services to define data flows supporting functional needs. Manage contracts, licenses, and budgets related to functional architecture tools.
- Coach and Share Knowledge Mentor Functional Analysts and promote architectural thinking across teams. Collaborate with peer architects and analysts to ensure coherence and shared understanding.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- Hold a Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Have 5 to 10 years of experience in IT, including roles in functional architecture, business analysis, or solution design.
- Demonstrate proven experience in designing functional models and structuring business capabilities across domains.
- Show Architecture design and modeling expertise: proficient in designing functional and business architectures using modeling tools (UML, ArchiMate, ARIS) and in applying architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF) to real-world scenarios.
- Have Process and capability structuring skills: skilled in structuring business processes and capability maps to ensure solutions are scalable, coherent, and aligned across multiple domains and organizational layers.
- Show system integration and Data modeling proficiency.
- Have exposure enterprise-level transformation projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Are fluent in French and English, any additional languages are considered an asset.
- Have IQBBA Foundation and IIBA ECBA /CCBA/CBAP (BABOK) certifications, it is considered valuable as well as TOGAF certifications.
