PwC Luxembourg is hiring a Transfer Agent (TA) Expert (m/f/d).
Your mission: We are looking for an experienced specialist for the sector of “transfer agent business” to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge in the TA domain, has already gained experience in the role of a Consultant, is highly motivated to help building up our tailored service offering and wants to help our clients optimize their business in the context of Advisory projects. You will be working in a team creating and developing initiatives and ideas.
Your role will encompass all areas of operations / administration – with a focus on transfer agent processes – for a variety of investment fund structures including traditional/liquid and alternative/illiquid vehicles. Working closely with your Managers, your responsibilities will be:
  • Advise clients who are active in the TA industry (or interested to better understand the operational framework and requirements applicable to TAs) and support them in coping with their operational, business, technological or regulatory challenges.
  • Help recognizing trends, identifying opportunities, supporting commercial initiatives, prepare/lead client discussions, manage/contribute to the preparation of proposals and active work on projects – incl. daily management of project teams.
  • Analyse/optimise TA business processes and support during the implementation of best practices, systems and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and execute regular trainings – as well internally for our teams and externally for our clients/their teams.
  • Coach and train less experienced team members in the area of the TA industry.
  • Support for the ongoing screening / assessment of upcoming regulatory changes and their potential impacts on the TA industry in Luxembourg.
  • Support adequate and competent representation of PwC Luxembourg in the framework of local industry association’s working groups and events.
  • Become recognized as expert for TA processes, their critical analysis and improvement – in this role you will be focusing on identifying gaps, inefficiencies, shortcomings, potential non-compliance, opportunities for improvements.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or another related discipline, from a university or higher education institution.
  • Have ideally 5+ years of professional experience in providing (Consulting) services for the TA industry.
  • Have a deep understanding of the investment fund industry in general – both for traditional/liquid investment vehicles and alternative/non-liquid products – and for operational interactions.
  • Benefit from a very good understanding of Luxembourg’s Finance industry and the current regulatory framework that specifically applies to a Luxembourg-based TA.
  • Developed solid knowledge of TA business models/practice across relevant European jurisdictions – any beyond.
  • Gained deep knowledge of the TA service delivery and business interactions with management companies/AIFMs and all other relevant players and service providers in the operational picture such as portfolio managers, fund accountants, custodians, investors, distributors, regulators etc.
  • Master the TA value chain, organisation, processes, service catalogue including deep expertise on fund distribution chain and (brokerage) platforms.
  • Have a very good understanding of (core) systems/applications/technical standards currently in use in the TA industry and solid ideas how TA services are impacted by technological developments in the future – e.g. distributed ledger technology.
  • Are perfectly familiar with topics and specific requirements coming out of an AML / KYC context or challenges related to investor taxation.
  • Have worked with your analytical mindset and base your work on strategic guidelines.
  • Benefit from strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Are keen to work in young, fast-paced and international teams.
  • Have good people skills, you like to work as part of a team and you are eager to dive into a major project where your energy, analytical skills, discipline and intellectual curiosity will drive success.
  • Are flexible and independent, and you feel comfortable when adapting to sudden changes in working patterns.
  • Are highly proficient in English. Speaking French or German would be considered as an asset.

  • Degrees/Field of Study required: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or another related discipline.
