Pwc Luxembourg is hiring an IT Functional Analyst (m/f/d). What if it was you? Your mission: The IT Functional Analyst acts as a key mediator between Business stakeholders and Technical team, ensuring that business needs are transformed into clear, feasible, and implementable functional solutions. The role is responsible for understanding, structuring, and challenging business requirements, performing feasibility and impact analysis, and translating what needs to be achieved into how it should be functionally implemented within IT systems. This is achieved through the use of structured analysis and modelling techniques such as functional decomposition, use cases, process analysis and modelling, and user stories, enabling Technical teams to build solutions that are aligned with business objectives, compliant with constraints, and scalable over time. The IT Functional Analyst does not simply pass information between teams, but actively shapes the functional behaviour of solutions, bridging business intent and technical execution. Be a part of our team where you will: Understand Business Needs & Clarify Requirements Review and analyse Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) provided by Business stakeholders. Clarify, restructure, and formalize business requirements where they are incomplete, ambiguous, or implicit. Challenge solution-oriented statements to uncover the actual functional and business requirements. Validate clarified requirements with Business stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and alignment. Perform Feasibility & Impact Analysis Analyse functional feasibility in collaboration with Architects and Technical team. Assess impacts on existing solutions, processes, systems, data, integrations, and users. Identify dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and functional risks. Provide functional options, trade-offs, and recommendations to support decision-making. Define Functional Requirements Translate business requirements into clear and actionable functional specifications. Decompose complex requirements into manageable functional components. Define functional flows, business rules, validations, and exception handling. Ensure consistency between business processes, functional requirements, and system behaviour. Model and Document Functional Requirements Produce and update functional artefacts such as use cases, process flows, and status diagrams. Model functional behaviour using appropriate modelling techniques. Document functional data structures and mappings where required. Enable Technical Implementation Collaborate with Architects, Developers, and QA to clarify functional intent. Support the decomposition of functional requirements into user stories. Act as the functional reference during implementation. Mediate Between Business and Technical Team Act as a bridge between Business and Technical stakeholders. Facilitate alignment and shared understanding across teams. Resolve functional ambiguities, scope questions, and priority conflicts. Preserve business intent throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related field.
- Have 3 to 7 years of experience in IT, including roles such as IT Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, System Analyst or similar positions involved in solution delivery.
- Demonstrate solid experience in analysing and structuring business requirements, including reviewing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and transforming them into clear functional specifications.
- Show strong functional analysis and modelling skills, with hands-on experience in techniques such as functional decomposition, use cases, process analysis and modelling, user stories, and root cause analysis.
- Are comfortable challenging solution-oriented business inputs to identify underlying requirements and ensure feasibility and clarity.
- Have experience working closely with Technical team (Developers, Architects, QA) and supporting them throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Demonstrate strong communication and mediation skills, enabling alignment between Business and Technical stakeholders.
- Are fluent in English; French is considered a strong asset, and any additional languages are a plus.
- Hold or are willing to pursue business analysis and functional analysis certifications such as IQBBA Foundation, IIBA ECBA/CCBA/CBAP, or equivalent.
